Lady Gaga has an extra reason to celebrate her 25th birthday this week -- she has been unveiled as the recipient of a top honour at the 2011 NewNowNext Awards. Gaga will be presented with the Always Next, Forever Now award at Logo TV's annual ceremony on 7 April.
The prize is given to pop culture icons who push boundaries with their talents and style. Previews honourees include Britney Spears and Janet Jackson. And there is another connection between Gaga and the show -- three years ago she made her TV debut performing her hit song 'Just Dance' gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender-friendly network.
Dave Mace, Logo's Senior Vice President of Original Programming, says, "We knew the moment Lady Gaga made her inaugural television appearance on our first 'NewNowNext Awards' back in 2008, she was destined for big things.
"All throughout her whirlwind rise, she's remained a friend to Logo and we're honoured to have her back on the show. Simply put, she rocks our world."
Gaga is currently on tour and won't be able to accept the award in person.
