Lady Gaga will perform at EuroPride 2011, a major gay pride festival that takes place in Rome this coming weekend.
The Associated Press reports that Gaga will perform on Saturday in the Italian capital’s Circus Maximus. Gaga is of Italian heritage so this gay pride play is of particular significance for her! Even though Lebanon has reportedly banned ‘Born This Way’ from being sold due to what it considers anti-Christian concepts, Gaga continues to do her thing and open her arms to all walks of life. “Following an invite by the committee, Lady Gaga has decided to take part in EuroPride, confirming her support for the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community,” the organizers of the fest said in a statement.
This follows her open video letter that she addressed to specific members of the Senate last fall about the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
In other Gaga news, ‘Born This Way’ is expected to top the Billboard Top 200 chart for the second week in a row.
