‘Born This Way’ Back on Top of UK Album Charts

Lady Gaga’s Born This Way has returned to number one on the UK albums chart a month after it first took the top spot. The CD moves up two spots in it fifth week on the chart, holding off Bon Iver’s new release and Adele’s still-selling 21.


This week, Lady Gaga sold 47,000 copies of Born This Way, bringing its total to more than 400,000 to date. The CD has already reached platinum status in the UK, as well as more than twenty other countries around the world. Earlier this month, Lady Gaga announced that her album had shipped five million copies worldwide.

Gaga’s debut album The Fame (re-released as The Fame Monster) moves up seven spots to No. 13. The multi-platinum record has spent an impressive 128 weeks on the chart to date.

Lady Gaga’s Born This Way continues to rule world album charts. After selling over two million copies in its first week, the CD remains one of the top-selling releases in numerous countries around the world. This week, Born This Way sits atop official charts in Canada, France, Greece, Brazil and Russia and spends another week in the top 5 in over thirty worldwide.

The hot-selling album is already certified platinum in the United States, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan; double platinum in Brazil and triple platinum in Russia.

Lady Gaga Tops Billboard 200 with ‘Born This Way’

Lady Gaga has earned her first number one album in the United States. The freshly-released Born This Way debuts atop the Billboard 200 with more than 1,108,000 copies sold in its first week, outselling the rest of the top 20 combined.

Born This Way scores the biggest first-week sales since 50 Cent’s The Massacre (2005) and becomes only the ninth fastest-selling album in the U.S. ever. What makes Lady Gaga’s achievement even more impressive is the fact that album sales have decreased 65% over the last ten years. Lady Gaga Scores Seventh Dance Number One

Lady Gaga graces the top of another Billboard chart this week as her latest single “Born This Way” climbs one place on Hot Dance Club Songs. The track becomes Gaga’s seventh number one on the dance chart in a row – her only song not to reach the top was, ironically, “Just Dance.”
