From winning the Best Album of 2011 from PopJustice yesterday, the latest album ‘Born This Way’ has once again been crowned Best Pop Album of 2011 by SPIN.com. The category included 20 albums from the past year including artists such as Jessie J, Beyoncé and Adele. Here’s what SPIN.com had to say about the winning album:
- The year’s biggest pop album made no effort to obscure its Reagan-era inspirations: Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, that scene in Footloose where Kevin Bacon plays chicken with a tractor. But what’s even more retro is Lady Gaga’s earnestness as she pursues her social-equality agenda. Beneath the hair and makeup and arena-razing disco-metal grooves, Born This Way delivers a message that old glamazon Pete Seeger could dig: She thinks pop can still move policy, and she might be right.
Make sure you purchase Gaga’s latest single, Marry the Night on iTunes and Amazon and help it rise in the charts.
